We measure your site every month and write what changed
Websites do not break all at once. They decay in pieces: a plugin is added, a certificate expires, someone drops in a tracking script. Nobody notices, because the site still looks the same. The watchdog notices for you and sends a short monthly report: the numbers, what changed since last month and where you stand against other sites in the region. Free, no account, no password.
What we watch
Eight things where a change for the worse can be told apart from noise. The thresholds are deliberately blunt: measurement wobbles by a few points and a watchdog that cries about it stops being read.
Mobile speed
We write when the score drops ten points below the best of the last three runs, or falls under fifty.
Availability
Two failed loads in a row and we write. One outage can be maintenance, two is not.
Secure connection
Https or its enforcement disappeared. The browser tells your visitors before you find out.
PHP version
The server moved to a version that no longer gets security fixes. It usually happens after a hosting move.
WordPress
The core fell behind the latest release, or another plugin stopped being updated.
Tracking code
Advertising trackers appeared that never ask for consent. Often the work of an agency you do not know about.
Sitemap
It stopped responding, so search engines lost the map of your pages.
Four Google scores
Performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO. The numbers are in every email, even when nothing got worse.
How it works
- 01Enter the site address and an email on the same domain. Without that we cannot tell the site is yours and the watchdog could be pointed at someone else's.
- 02A confirmation email arrives. Until you click the link, nothing is measured.
- 03After confirming we measure straight away so you can see it works. Then once a month.
- 04Every month a short report arrives: the numbers, how they moved since last month and what share of the measured sites in the region you are ahead of. Anything that got worse or better sits at the top. If it is too much, one link switches you to worse-only reports.
What is in it for us
Nothing until you get in touch. The watchdog sends no offers and keeps running even if you have the fix done elsewhere. We build websites, so we count on one company in ten writing back. That is enough.
Is it really free?
Yes, no catch. The measuring runs on our server and one site a month costs us next to nothing. We count on some people coming back with work; those who do not lose nothing.
Why do you want an email on the site's domain?
It is the only way to tell, without an account or a password, that the site is yours. If any address worked, this form could be used to probe someone else's site and mail the results anywhere.
What do you do with the measurements?
Nothing. We do not sell them, we do not join them to other data and watched sites do not count towards our public report on the state of websites. Switch the watchdog off and the history is deleted.
Does it put load on our site?
Once a month we download the home page, about as much as one visitor. Google measures the speed with its own tool. A ban in robots.txt is respected.
